Equifax is moving into a new office in the heart of Nottingham city centre this week, with a ceremonial ribbon cutting by the Sheriff of Nottingham, Councillor Shuguftah Quddoos, due on the 9 August. The move will see 300 colleagues who work in the existing TDX Group office on Fletcher Gate move to new Equifax office space in the EastWest building.

Equifax’s move was motivated by the workspace’s impressive environmental credentials, with high-standard glazing, lighting, heating and ventilation. Equifax’s new office is expected to reduce the company’s energy consumption in Nottingham by more than 30%, contributing to the wider goal of net-zero emissions by 2040. The net-zero commitment is enabled by Equifax’s move to
cloud.

As part of the pledge Equifax is implementing a large number of environmental schemes including recycling initiatives, discounts to local cafes to encourage less food miles and transport incentives. The office offers new cycling facilities, showers and lockers, to encourage cycle to work schemes, boosting Equifax’s environmental credentials.

The EastWest building has undergone a £5 million redevelopment over the past year and Equifax has taken 19,045 sq ft across the entire 5th  floor of the huge office development on Maid Marian Way. CEG and Incognito created a bespoke fit for Equifax, equipped with all the latest technology, while the specially designed open-plan layout embraces flexible working methods, with additional break out spaces to encourage and facilitate collaborative working.

Equifax’s new office will encourage a collaborative and productive working environment for employees, boosting hybrid working and top-level acoustic separation and absorption in our more confidential spaces so you can work unhindered.

Patricio Remon, President for Europe at Equifax, said: “It’s fantastic to be opening our new state-of-the-art offices in Nottingham. We’ve been part of the business landscape in Nottingham since 2004 when TDX first started and I’m positive that with this new working environment for our team we’ll enjoy many more years of success. Nottingham is a great base to keep growing our European business and it is an honour to have the Sheriff, Councillor Quddoos, here to open our office. We look forward to welcoming new employees and our many clients and partners to this new and inspiring workspace.”

Councillor Shuguftah Quddoos, the Sheriff of Nottingham, said: “I’m pleased to be part of helping Equifax to welcome colleagues into their new and vibrant home in our city centre. Nottingham city is committed to becoming carbon neutral by 2028 and to be the first UK city to achieve this. We will deliver that not only through our own City Council initiatives but also through the commitment of organisations such as Equifax within our city."

Phil McGilvary, Managing Director of Debt Services at Equifax, said: “This move is great news for our business and our colleagues based in Nottingham, but also for 800 colleagues around our wider UK offices who use this office as a central spot to touch base with colleagues and clients. The modern new office offers spaces for private quiet work and collaborative team tasks, which will benefit productivity within employees.

“Alongside the new office opening, we’ve pledged to reduce our global environmental impact and have committed to net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040, a sustainability commitment enabled by our cloud transformation."

Simon Millington, Director at Incognitio, said: “The workspace delivered at the EastWest building for Equifax has energy, it feels open and yet intimate and it draws you in with a desire to explore. On a basic level it has a design language focused on the client’s brand, but equally important is the fact that we’ve created a working environment that provides a choice of work settings that meet the needs of a variety of neuro drivers, encourages chance encounters and supports collaboration through open workshop areas.

“We’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved for Equifax and the step change this is going to ignite within the team. We’ve brought a new lease of life to a classic 1970’s building and demonstrated how an understanding of human need, organisational need and design can create a workplace of the future from recycled stock.”

Alex Goode, Investment Manager at CEG, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Equifax to EastWest. The building has fast become a thriving business community following its £5 million refurbishment. Equifax was attracted to our Let Ready Custom Design + Fit Out offer as it has delivered a turnkey solution with a fully bespoke workspace. Our experienced in-house team has managed the process from end-to-end, from design and layout to décor and finishes, working in harmony with the services within the building to provide an efficient and cost-effective solution, supported by our tried and tested supply chain and buying power.
